Who We Are

Carrie Sue Casey

Founder and Principal

An adept workshop planner and facilitator, Carrie Sue honed her ✨ unique approach through international experience, government service, and corporate ventures. What sets her apart is not just her background managing national security accounts from Spain to Liberia; it's her trailblazing work introducing human-centered design in tricky environments, including in the Office of the Secretary of Defense for Policy (OSD-P), the Interagency, and internationally.

She spent over 14 years at the Pentagon, cultivating a deep respect for our military, nerding out on international affairs, and wearing many hats (and shoes), including foreign affairs specialist and institutional capacity-builder. She guided leaders through numerous political transitions, which deepened her perspective on effective governance and strategic decision-making. An academic background in peace operations, with specialization in post-conflict societies and gender, adds additional depth to her toolbox.

Carrie Sue has a Master’s in Public Policy and is a certified CliftonStrengths Coach and LUMA Human-Centered Design Instructor. She prefers her books in hardback, her linens vintage, and her BBQ from Memphis🎸. A mother of three, she and her spouse live outside of Richmond, where the deer eat all her hydrangeas.

What We Do

We design and facilitate Strategic Forums and Workshops to support U.S. Government (USG) institutional capacity-building, with a focus on Women, Peace, and Security (WPS).

We use design-thinking to foster problem-solving in national security contexts. With DoD, Interagency, and policy-making and defense institution building chops, we prioritize action based on framing the problem and listening.

We've facilitated scores of workshops for senior leaders, infusing sessions with innovation ✨ and defining next steps. In so doing, we have contributed to performance enhancement and organizational health in the corporate and non-profit worlds, but our sweet spot is USG and international affairs.

Wait, what do you do exactly?

We craft Strategic Forums and Workshops using a tailored, empathy-based approach, our national security background, and fueled by the belief that all stakeholders deserve seats🪑at the solutions table.
